On July 10th, Innovative Fitness Victoria’s local health professional  Ryley Carter will set off on a 500 km cycling challenge that he’s aiming to complete the ride in just 36 hours. His goal is to raise awareness of childhood obesity and support the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s 60 Minute Kids’ Club, a Canadian charity that works with schools to get kids excited about keeping healthy lifestyle habits.

Ride for the Future will kick off in Port Hardy on July 10 at 5 am. Supported by a two-person crew, Ryley plans to arrive in Victoria at 5pm on July 11. He is partnering with local businesses to raise awareness throughout the community. Ryley will be arriving in Brentwood Bay Ferry terminal at 4pm on July 11th, were he invites riders of all abilities to accompany him on his last section of the ride – Brentwood to Mile “0” in Beacon Hill Park. There will be a communal gathering at the Terry Fox landmark – which is where the ride will be finished.

The community of Victoria will all be welcomed to come cheer on Ryley as well join him for a cool down and stretch in the park.
