What is metabolic health?
Metabolic health is about looking at the whole person and understanding how you function as a system. This includes how you generate and process energy or, in simpler terms, how you respond to food and the impact that has on key factors of overall health, including blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides, inflammation, and weight. When you are metabolically healthy, you’re able to respond to food in a beneficial way, reducing your risk of metabolic illnesses such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, etc, and allowing you to lead a longer, healthier life.
