2016 marked the second year for the Canadian Cancer Society’s Daffodil Dash, a 5k to raise funds for cancer research. This year, Innovative Fitness partnered with the Canadian Cancer Society to lead the warm-up for all three Daffodil Dashes in the Lower Mainland: Vancouver, West Vancouver, and Port Moody.
The IF Coaches and members arrived nice and early for the event to get checked in and oriented. After a few short speeches from the organizers and some inspiring stories from cancer survivors, the organizers introduced the IF coaches to lead the warm-up and jumped in on all of the warm-up fun.
Following the IF-led warm-up it was off to the races! With a quick “3-2-1-GO” it was time for the run. This was an especially meaningful 5k since participants sought pledges in support of the Canadian Cancer Society for their run. With one of IF’s core values being “Legacy” – leaving the world a better place than we found it – this was definitely an event we were proud to be a part of, not only by leading the warm-up, but also by having a number of our coaches and members running in the event and raising funds for Cancer Research.
What IF you could?
