The story of IF North Van, in its pre-natal stages, has been a saga for the ages. The plan to open on the North Shore was set in motion in September 2014, when we submitted the application to franchise. Once approved, it took over 1 year of scouring the commercial market to find the perfect location. We searched high and low, from retail to light-industrial; nothing fit the bill. Consequently, we decided to get creative, we found a diamond in the rough; a 4100sf warehouse, located perfectly right near Lionsgate Bridge. The process of securing the lease was the next adventure. Back and forth, it took some amazing minds to finalize our deal, which happened nearly 6 months after negotiations began. Following this, the District of North Vancouver was next. We submitted our building permit application in December of 2016 and didn’t start breaking down walls until May 2017!
BUT NOW…
We are fully underway and on track to open our doors in September 2017!
Innovative Fitness North Vancouver has big shoes to fill. We are the newest of an incredibly influential family of training clubs coming to an amazing community. The people of North Van have been so warm and welcoming, so we cannot wait to make our mark! Therefore, you can expect us to be taking advantage all the adventures and natural beauties the shore has to offer.
This new location is located at 1805 Welch St. Especially relevant, it will come fully loaded with copious amounts of member parking, fully stocked change rooms with towel service and all the amenities necessary to continue with your day. It is perfectly situated to accommodate commuters going in and out of downtown Vancouver on a daily basis, and is a straight shot down Capilano Rd. Moreover, other unique features of this location are a glassed garage-style door that opens up to a loading bay facing south, spacious 20ft ceilings and the extremely close proximity Spirit Trail park right across the street; perfect for outdoor training.
